MUMBAI: Carlyle, KKR, Blackstone, Bain, TA Associates and Warburg Pincus are global private equity buyout funds approached to buy a controlling stake in India's leading mattress maker Kurlon, said three people with direct knowledge of the development as the latter's strategic options beyond the previously planned IPO.
Mattress manufacturing firm Kurlon will be the first SMEs to go live on SAP S4 HANA for its nine factories, one corporate office and 75 branches across India. Established in 1962, the company is the leading mattress manufacturer in the country. Kurlon has the PAN India presence and operates in vivid range of bed accessories.
Home comforts company, Kurl-On Enterprise Ltd, on Monday said it has entered into a strategic partnership with Amazon India to launch an online brand store in the sofa category. The partnership will help Kurl-On reach out to a very large base of online consumers across the country while it helps Amazon's efforts to launch the furniture portfolio in its home segment.
MUMBAI: Motilal Oswal Private Equity Investment Advisors (MOPE) has invested Rs 90 crore in mattress and foam manufacturing company Kurlon. The funds will be used for investing in capacities, deepening the distribution network, Kurlon said in a statement.
Bangalore based mattress maker Kurlon on Wednesday said it has invested Rs. 50 crore for its new plant in Roorkee, which will go on-stream in July. "Out new plant in Roorkee, Uttaranchal has seen investment of about Rs. 40-50 crore. The plant will go on-stream in July and mainly produce foam mattresses. We will also explore the possibility of producing any other mattress that cannot be produced in Gwalior," Kurlon Ltd, Chairman and Managing Director, T Sudhakar Pai said.
MUMBAI: Private equity fund Fidelity India Capital Advisors will purchase around 15% stake in Manipal group-owned home furnisher and decorator Kurlon for about Rs 150 crore, two investment bankers with direct knowledge of the development said.
